And a very happy start!

Hello to anyone who might stop on by this little diddy.

I am beginning a journey to a healthier life. However, I have never been great at sticking WITH that lifestyle. Thus, I have decided to blog about my days in hopes that I will hold myself accountable if I write about my trials, tribulations, failures and successes each day!

To begin, some background:

I am a junior in college, and after entering my weight began yoyo-ing quite a bit.
At my best weight, I was 145. At my worst, 185 lbs. To some, that weight might even look good on them. But on my 5'6 frame, I have a belly that I have NEVER had before.
And let me just say...it needs to GO.

So, beginning today, I am making a few promises to myself. If I break them, that's OKAY. I'm not perfect, I'm human....and I have picked up some awful habits that are going to be difficult to break. Still, hopefully having a few promises out there on the internet will help me to be more AWARE of what I'm in-taking and out-putting everyday.

I, Lily, do solemnly promise:
  • To allow myself ONE sweet thing a day, under 150 calories.
  • To work out at least 5 days a week, for no less than 45 minutes.
  • To cut my portions in HALF....and NOT go back for seconds.
  • To only eat TWO snacks a day (outside of 3 regular meals) and for these snacks to be under 150 calories--and preferably within the "healthy" spectrum. 
  • To cut out alcohol, juices, chocolate milk, and other drinks high in calories with NO real nutritional value.
  • To drink at least 4 bottles of water a day. 
  • To walk to class and other places as often as I can.
I'll even go as far as to include my own electronic signature: LILY S.

There. Beginning NOW at 2pm on October 2nd, 2012.
Let's do this thing.
